This is a 2-hour driving session aimed at making you safer on rural roads, expressways, and interstate highways. The first hour is dedicated to making you a safer driver on high speed rural highways and teaching you to Identify all the dangers associated with rural roads, like limited sight distances, restricted lines of sight, soft shoulders, blind driveways, passing, and being passed. Rural roads produce more traffic fatalities than any other stretch of highway in America. You will learn proven techniques of how to recover after edging off the roadway, how to avoid head on collisions, and other common collisions associated with rural roadways. We will address all the dangers associated with rural driving.
The second hour is dedicated to entering and exiting controlled access highways (interstates) and traveling using orderly visual search patterns, while maintaining safe space cushions and identifying hazards associated with the roadway’s features and conditions, traffic formations, other users, signs, signals, markings, and all other potential hazardous conditions. In addition, you will learn how to choose the proper lane and the correct lane positioning to travel in, as well as proper trip planning.
